Batten clips into the factory luggage-net points in the roof lining of the BMW 5 Series Touring (G31) to carry cameras, facing forward through the windscreen or back over the seats. Tablets for the rear seats need points behind the front seats, which we haven't confirmed on this car yet. No drilling, and nothing clamped to the headrests.

The 5 Series Touring and its roof points

Genuine partition nets are sold for the G31, and owners say fitting one in the roof takes about thirty seconds. Points behind the front seats aren't confirmed yet.

Does your car have the points?

Look for sliding covers in the headliner on each side, just behind the rear seats. BMW's partition net fits retainers under them. Some cars built for markets outside the UK don't have them.
