Batten for Audi

Tablet and camera mount for the Audi Q8 / SQ8 / RS Q8 (4M)

On the list · 4M · 2018 on

Batten clips into the factory luggage-net points in the roof lining of the Audi Q8 / SQ8 / RS Q8 (4M) to carry cameras, facing forward through the windscreen or back over the seats. Tablets for the rear seats need points behind the front seats, which we haven't confirmed on this car yet. No drilling, and nothing clamped to the headrests.

The Q8 / SQ8 / RS Q8 and its roof points

The Q8 shares the Q7's platform, and Audi's fitting drawings show the same keyhole fixing points in its roof lining. That makes the RS Q8 a strong candidate for an onboard camera. Points behind the front seats aren't confirmed yet.

Does your car have the points?

Look for keyhole slots in the roof lining, one on each side, just behind the rear seats and just behind the front seats. On many Audis the slots are simply visible in the lining; on some they sit under a small trim cap. If your car was ordered with the factory partition net, code 3CX is on the option sticker in the boot or in the service book.

Some cars hide the point under a small trim cap. On many, including most VW Group cars, there's no cap and the slot is just visible.
